Ghana Campaign against Obstetric Fistula

Time with Grandma
The initiative is based on the inclusion of traditional community leaders and elders to address sexual and reproductive health issues in the communities of Central Region in Ghana.

The overall strategy of the programme is to promote male involvement on decision making on health-seeking behaviors and utilization of reproductive health services. 

Kayayee/Female Porters
UNFPA Ghana and its partners have implemented programmes to empower female porters (kayayee) to improve their livelihood and reduce their risk of contracting HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. 

Curious Minds
Curious Minds is a media network in Ghana which uses radio to raise awareness on youth issues, including sexual and reproductive health, water, hygiene and sanitation, and education. 

Working in Collaboration with Ghana Private Roads and Trasport Unions
The project aims to encourage taxi drivers in Central Region to transport pregnant women to the closest health facility. In addition, the transport service helps reduce delays in accessing emergency care for pregnant women, and ultimately, contribute to the reduction of maternal and child mortality.
