The year 2025 has opened with renewed purpose and determined
steps. Across Ghana, the drive to uphold the dignity, rights, and
future of every woman and girl continues to gather strength, and
UNFPA is proud to stand at the centre of this movement.

In the first triannual alone, we have witnessed outreaches for key
partners as such. Meaningful partnerships are evolving from goodwill
to tangible actions. From supporting youth-led initiatives that
challenge the harmful practice of female genital mutilation(FGM) to
enhancing care for survivors of gender-based violence through newly
established laboratory and psychotheraphy at the Domestic Violence
Victim Support One stop centre at the Police Headquarters in Accra
services. Our efforts are founded on shared commitment and genuine
collaboration.

Together with the government, development partners, civil society, academia, the private sector and
communities, we are co-creating solutions that are practical, responsive, and people-centred.

We are also supporting grassroots movements that are giving voice and visibility to adolescent girls,
particularly those living in underserved and marginalised areas. These movements are helping to bridge the
gap between tradition and progress, while creating safe and affirming spaces, not only in hospitals and
clinics, but also in homes, schools, and neighbourhoods where support is most needed.

As the year unfolds, we are reminded that real change does not begin in boardrooms or on the pages of
newspapers. It begins when we act with courage, choose empowerment over sympathy, and embrace
partnership instead of working in silos.

Thank you for walking alongside us, and for believing that every woman, girl or young person has the right
to make her own choices, the right to live free from fear, and every community deserves to thrive in dignity.
Let us continue to move forward together, with hope, resolve and unity of purpose.
Please let us know your experiences in reading the newsletter and how we can engage more with you.
