Young people share their views on FGM in commemoration of this year’s International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM on the theme: Unleashing Youth Power.

As part of activities of ‘Year of Return’ in Ghana, UNFPA hosted Members of Parliament from Ghana and the Diaspora to share knowledge on achieving the Demographic Dividend and the role of legislators . 


In the heart of Accra, Osu Oxford streets, where thousands throng the streets, messages against Sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices reached the vulnerable people and the powerful in the society. UNFPA Youth leaders Fellows spearheaded a youth-led march and vigil to climax the 16 Days of Activism against Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) campaign.


To mobilise action to fast-track progress on the Programme of Action, and essentially the SDGs, the governments of Kenya and Denmark and UNFPA co-convened the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 from 12th to 14th November 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya. A 40-member delegation from Ghana, led by the Director-General of the National Development Planning Commission, Dr. Kodjo Esseim Mensah-Abrampa, joined the discourse at the summit.
