The 1st Parliamentary Dialogue with Afro-Descendants in the Diaspora on the margins of the “Year of Return 2019

The “Year of Return, Ghana 2019” is a major landmark that is aimed at encouraging African diasporas to come to Africa to settle and invest in the continent. The celebrations also present several learning activities from history to governance for participants. United Nations Population Fund – UNFPA is using this significant platform provided by the ‘The Year of Return’ to host a knowledge sharing session with Parliamentarians, both in Ghana and from the Diaspora on issues of population and development. The two-day meeting, under the theme: ‘Year of Return – Achieving the Demographic Dividend: the role of Parliamentarians’, will explore political representation in pushing the tenets of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), including domestic financing for commodities securities.

The Minister of Planning Hon Prof George Yaw Gyan-Baffour is the Guest of Honour

The Diaspora Parliamentarians will pay a courtesy call on the Rt Speaker of Parliament, Hon Aaron Mike Oquaye.
