“You must take full advantage of this remarkable opportunity” UNFPA Regional Director, Mabingue Ngom tells fellows during the inauguration of UNFPA Ghana’s Youth Leaders Fellowship Programme (YoLe) on the 7 November 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The inauguration of YoLe provided a befitting end to what was an activity-packed first day at the 2nd African Youth SDGs Summit, especially considering its focus on actionable policies and traceable implemented programs.

According to the Country Representative, Mr. Niyi Ojuolape, the YoLe Fellowship Programme was geared towards impacting the needed skills which young people needed to drive changes and impact society in a significant way. The programme which was preceded by months of intense research and wide consultations was geared towards providing mentorship, pairing the fellows with professionals who would in the course of one year, acquaint them with the rigour of youth engagements, gender mentorship, health innovation and sexual and reproductive rights. Further to this, the fellows would have the opportunity to develop their ICT skills with one of UNFPA’s implementing partner in the Fellowship, renowned Innovation Lab—Impact Hub Accra.
