Ghana has long prioritized Family Planning (FP) as a key strategy for addressing the country’s health, social and economic issues. Ghana’s first organized efforts towards scaling up FP started  in 1969 when an advisory team on population affairs led by Prof. Fred T. Sai helped to establish the Family Planning Council at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.
