Location: Accra International Conference Centre
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) compiles an annual report on the State of the World’s Population to guide research, policy making, programming and implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation. This year’s report, entitled: “The power of 1.8 billion: adolescents, youth and the transformation of the future”. The report advances the fact that young people matter. They matter because an unprecedented 1.8 billion youth are alive today, and they will undoubtedly be the shapers and leaders of our global future. They matter because they have inherent human rights that must be fulfilled. Yet, in a world of adult concerns, young people are often overlooked.
UNFPA Ghana will launch the report at Accra International Conference Centre. Hon. Mahama Ayariga, the Minister of Youth and Sports is the Guest of Honour and scheduled to launch the report.
