Glitz Africa Foundation in collaboration with the UNFPA Ghana is organising a maternal health walk to create awareness on Obstetric Fistula (OF). As part of Glitz Africa’s contributions to improving maternal health in Ghana, the foundation organizes the Women of the Year initiative to support maternal health awareness creation 

The 2017 event is in three parts: the She Summit, the maternal health awareness walk and women of the year awards

i. The She Summit,

This is a two day conference organized to empower women in all fields of endeavor. It is made up of the Students Edition which is targeted at students from the tertiary institutions all over Ghana for the first day and the second day for the Corporate Edition targeting professionals and the working class women. Information on aspects of maternal health is provided to the participants to create awareness on the subject matter.

ii. The Maternal Health Awareness Walk

The 2017 Maternal Health Walk is to create awareness on Obstetric Fistula (OF).  Participants of this walk are women groups, corporate bodies, NGOs, Celebrities, development partners, medical professionals, the media and the general public. The Maternal Health Awareness walk will be crowned with a talk on Obstetric Fistula (OF) and health screening and counselling at the finishing point.  

iii. Women of the year Awards

This is a night of glitz and glamour to award selected women of the year.  A Guest list is drawn from a list of Former Presidents /First Ladies, Politicians, Ministers, Policy Makers, Foreign Embassies, DPs, NGOs, Business Executives, Celebrities among others.  Funds will be raised and a donation made to OF programmes in Ghana.
