The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Planning and the National Population Council with support from the United Nations Population Fund is scheduled to host the 3rd China – Africa Conference on Population and Development from 23 to 26 June 2019 in Accra, Ghana.

The First conference was held in Kenya in 2017 while the Second one in China in 2018. Under the theme “Population Data Management and Universal Access to Reproductive Health as Key Drivers of Sustainable Development”, the conference is an academic conference that is expected to bring together government officials, academics, experts, civil society professionals among others to exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences as well as review the progress made and challenges faced in implementing the 1994 ICPD programme of Action.

A youth forum is being convened as part of the conference and will take place on 26 June, 2019. It will encourage knowledge sharing and promote networking between African and Chinese Youth who are the next generation of leaders. The CACPD-Youth4Youth Forum will attract participation of young leaders who will lead discussions on how to improve outcomes for young people in Africa and China.
