International Youth Day is commemorated annually to celebrate young people all over world. This year’s theme “Youth engagement for Global Action” highlighted the participation and leadership of young people in implementing projects towards achieving the SDGs from the local to global level.

As part of activities to commemorate the day, UNFPA Ghana in collaboration with UNFPA Ghana’s Honorary Ambassador, Claudia Lumor organized a mentoring session with 5 young people at the ambassador’s office to build their capacity.

This was a follow-up to her 40th birthday celebrated in June this year where she held an interactive online session to help young people learn and gain skills for the advancement of their careers. Through their active participation and engagement during the session, five young people were selected to receive an exclusive mentoring session with the UNFPA Honorary Ambassador and get the latest editions of the Glitz Magazine.

The mentoring session, which lasted for an hour, allowed four young females to learn about Claudia’s career journey to success as a woman, and some life lessons as they grow in their careers. They had the opportunity to ask various questions from business, to education, to the world of entertainment.

The UNFPA Ghana Honorary Ambassador urged them to strive hard towards achieving their goals and offered to introduce them to her network of influential personalities who can support and guide them in the various paths they have chosen in their careers.

The session ended with a presentation of the latest edition of the Glitz magazine as well as a photo session with the winners.
